Tasca – a trip to the Iberian Peninsula
Currently, the hottest new gastro-spot in Pilsen is the Portuguese-Spanish restaurant Tasca. You’ll find it at náměstí Republiky 7 (map), right next to Frenchie. Aside from the detailed menu, you’ll surely be entranced by the beautiful interior and its coastal style. Here you can dig into items such as chorizo grilled on a spit roast (right before your very eyes!), varied seafood options, stuffed Portuguese croquette, sandwiches, and even freshly baked pastel de nata (Portuguese pastries made of flaky dough, filled with egg yolk cream) and Basque cheesecake. For drinks, you can choose from the refreshing sangria or the restaurant’s own-branded wine. Bom apetite!

U Čejků
The newest establishment on Riegrova Street is the refreshing pub U Čejků, which, aside from plenty of beer, promises Czech cuisine, butcher’s delights, and fantastic brandy. You’ll find it at Riegrova 18 (map), between Delish and Cavino. Here you can satiate your appetite with beef goulash, pork chops, tasty ribs, potato pancakes, and burgers. We’d recommend trying the hot dog dubbed “Čejkovo cigáro” (Čejka’s Cigar), with its caramelised onions and cheddar cheese.

Dhaba Beas
Vegans and vegetarians can now find what they’re looking for on Dřevěná Street. That’s because the self-serve restaurant chain Dhaba Beas recently opened a new branch at Dřevěná 2 (map), which serves mainly traditional Indian, Vietnamese, Thai, and Czech cuisines. The menu changes every day, although you’ll typically find different vegetable-based meals, rice, sauces, pasta, salads, and fruit. In short, after you arrive, you select a tray and choose for yourself from the daily offerings, before placing your tray on the scale and paying. The price of your meal depends on its weight.
