Colourful folklore costumes, folk music and dance will arrive to Pilsen at the International Folklore Festival CIOFF. A vivid show of traditional music, singing and dances will be provided by folklore groups not only form the Pilsen region, but also from all over Czechia and Slovakia. The programme will also feature guests from more distant countries who they surprise you with a lot different concept of folklore than we are used to. Thanks to the festival, you will get to know new directions of folk art. You will listen to traditional instruments and folk songs from the whole world, enjoy looking at the colourful folk costumes and you will see that folklore is simply still alive.
The main festival scene is the area “U Branky” in the historical city centre. Some performances will take place in towns and villages around Pilsen. You can visit an Old Bohemian fair with demonstrations of handicrafts and folk gastronomy. In addition, a large festive procession in traditional attires will parade through the city.
