The largest festival of contemporary circus in West Bohemia brings a playful show full of artistic performances by local and foreign stars to Pilsen. The whole city comes alive with the circus and this is doubly true for Žonglobalizace (Contemporary Circus Festival). The performances of contemporary circus by performers and companies will animate the area near the city centre, called “U Ježíška”, which is located next to the Radbuza river. A huge circus tent will be built right there, and it will become the scene for the main festival programme. Come there for composed gala evenings and lively performances for children. You will also find various activities, including the children’s playground, in front of the circus tent.
Besides many breathtaking acrobatic stunts, magic tricks and juggling (it means “žonglování” in Czech), you will enjoy cabaret performances and afterparties that will be a pleasant final touch to May evenings. Relaxation and excellent food and drinks during the colourful circus days will be provided by the food and chillout zone. Adults and children alike can awaken their own playfulness and give it space at the movement workshops and seminars.
Tickets are required for the performances in the circus tent. The events outside are for free, but you can contribute a few coins to the hat.
