The exhibition in the main building of the Museum of West Bohemia traces the development of figural porcelain that was created in Bohemia from the end of 18th century to the present day. The exhibits offer you an insight of the changes that the figural and tableware porcelain has undergone over three centuries, in terms of shape as well as of decorations. The exhibition highlights the admirable work of sculptors, painters and modellers. It also addresses subjects such as the current large-scale production of porcelain or the involvement of designers in its creation.
The exhibition is the result of a collaboration with the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague and the Porzellanikon – State Museum of Porcelain in Selbo and Hohenberg a.d. Eger.
It also includes the active zone dedicated to porcelain decorations. The curators themselves will guide you through the exhibits. The guided tours will take place on four dates: 9th January, 20th February, 20th March and 24th April. You can also attend an accompanying lecture on Thursday, 30th January, again from 4 pm.
