In the lecture hall of the Gallery of West Bohemia, you can look at the world of Franz Kafka through the eyes of students of the University of West Bohemia. Young authors from the Graphic Design and Visual Communication of the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art present 32 posters, inspired by a life and art of the famous writer. Their original interpretations show that Kafka’s work is relevant even today and it still speaks to readers and artist of all generations around the world.
The artworks you will see at this exhibition belong to a collection of more than 150 posters. They have been created during several years by universities in Pilsen, Zlín, Bratislava, Warsaw and Budapest. The result of this international cooperation could be seen in Prague this summer, specifically at the Mánes Exhibition Hall.
The exhibition commemorates the 100th anniversary of Franz Kafka’s death. Other exhibition areas of the Gallery of West Bohemia are involved in this important event too. Not far from here, in the exhibition hall “Masné krámy”, further insight into Kafka’s work in a contemporary context is offered by an exhibition entitled “Through the Eyes of Franz Kafka: Between Image and Language”.
