A true architectural gem that Pilsen can boasts of are the residential interiors of the world-renowned architect Adolf Loos. The founder of modern architecture left a significant imprint also on Prague and other European cities, such as Vienna and Paris. According to his designs, 13 apartment interiors were created in Pilsen, intended for local Jewish businessmen. Eight interiors have remained to this day, and you can visit four of them on three tour routes.
What will you see on the tours?
Vogl and Kraus Apartments, the Brummel house and the Semler Residence are open. Several times a year, these tours are complemented by a special fourth route, thanks to which you will also get into the Richard Hirsch’s Apartment. This interior still waits for its reconstruction. In the Semler Residence, you will see a realization of Loos’ concept of the so-called Raumplan in which the height of individual rooms depends on their function and surface area. During the tours, you can admire the timeless design, luxurious natural materials and bold colours. The Loos interiors will also win you over with their practicality and indescribable atmosphere, in which the fates of the original owners are inevitably inscribed.

- The guided tours are in Czech but you can request the tour text in English or German in a form of printed paper guides.
- In the winter season (November – March), tours are held on Fridays and Saturday, and in the summer season (April – October) on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
- The routes have not barrier-free access.
- The tours are not suitable for children under the age of 10.
