The interior of the St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral in Pilsen has been significantly rejuvenated and beautified thanks to a complete reconstruction. Come and see how it is vibrant with colours after the renovation and experience the unique atmosphere of this Gothic jewel. You can use the SmartGuide app for your own tour during opening hours. It is available for download on our website and it will reveal you a lot of interesting information about the construction of the cathedral, its history and valuables, such as the precious statue of the Pilsen Madonna from the 14th century.
Apart from this stunning monument, you will find many other places worth seeing in the app, as well as several tours that will take you through the city and show you all its beauties.
We recommend combining a visit to the cathedral with climbing to the church tower, which is the tallest church tower in Czechia. After nearly 300 stairs, a wonderful view of landscape will open in front of you. You will see not only Pilsen, but in good weather, you will also spot the peaks of the Bohemian and Upper Palatine Forests and even a part of the Alps. The entrance to the tower is outside the building next to the main door, and the ticket desk can be found after the first section of stars. The visit to the cathedral is free of charge.
