The Indian summer in Pilsen would be incomplete without the film festival Finále Plzeň. The national showcase of feature films, documentaries, series, internet projects and student short films promises a rich programme every year. It will bring the best quality films from Czech production to the screen. Thanks to numerous previews and premieres, you have the opportunity to watch many films exclusively even before they hit the cinemas. The festival focuses also on foreign films – those in which Czech creators have significantly participated, as well as those from the neighbouring countries and other European regions.
The competition films and series may win the prestigious Golden Kingfisher awards. Special non-competitive awards are given by Student Juries of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. The festival Finále Plzeň will be also happy to welcome little viewers, as special screening will be prepared for them as well. You will surely notice that the city is alive with film in the pulsating heart of the festival around the Burgher’s Hall (Měšťanská beseda). It is not only here, in the pleasant surroundings of city orchards, that you can look forward to an abundance of accompanying events. Film delegations will arrive to present their films, so you may run into many special guests during the festival.
