The open-air event called Open UP! will launch the year of celebrations 2025 in Pilsen. An impressive evening programme on Republic Square will herald the main September celebrations of the 10th anniversary since the title European Capital of Culture and also commemorate the 730th anniversary of the foundation of the city. During four hours, you will see a captivating show and a video mapping “Journey in Galaxy through Pilsen” projected on the St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral. It will cover significant milestones in the history of the city and highlight its achievements in culture and sport. Two giant light puppets DUNDU from Stuttgart will move around the square and influence the course of the projections.
