For the sixth time, Pilsen will bloom into beauty with large-scale paintings at the WALLZ Street Art Festival. The main aim of this festival is the cultivation of public space by quality artistic works. Street art will, once again, enhance neglected or faded places and turn them into a colourful gallery that will refresh walks and living in the city not only for the locals. The facades of houses, subways, garages or technical objects and even entire streets become a painting canvas. You will see for yourself that the city is no longer a monotonous grey it used to be a long time ago.
A new face will be given to selected locations in Pilsen by leading street art artists from Czechia and abroad. You can watch the creation of these paintings, so-called murals, live during the festival. You will get inspired also by accompanying festival activities.
A large-scale painting will be created in the historical city centre in Proluka this year. The area, which is a part of many cultural events, will be enlivened by modern art piece that will depict a rich past and also future of the city and commemorate the year 2015. At that time, Pilsen gained the title European Capital of Culture, hence, this year is marked by celebrations of the 10th anniversary.
