What sort of animals will you meet?
Akva Tera is divided into multiple exhibits. Here you’ll find creatures from a primeval forest, a desert, from freshwater lakes or the Coral Sea. In the exposition focusing on Madagascar’s semiarid regions, you’ll discover the endangered radiated tortoise. Representatives of monitor lizards, the difficult-to-care-for green tree python, and several species of poison-arrow frogs from South and Central America can be seen in the primeval forest exhibits.
The aquariums exhibit tetras, angelfish, pencil fish, carnegiella, cory catfish, and the feared red-bellied piranhas. Another three aquariums will then teach you about life in a coral reef. And both the beloved chameleon and bearded dragon will be here to meet you.
Commentated feedings
You can experience an even more interesting tour by participating in the animals’ commentated feedings. They’re held every weekday at 16:00.
On Saturdays at 10:30h, you can watch the Northern caiman lizard being fed or even pet a snake. At 14:00, you’ll catch your breath watching the tarantulas eat. Then come again on Sunday to watch the frog andfish feedings.
